Josie
Summers receiving a poster-size photo of herself taken during a day
of union activism in San Francisco earlier this year. Signed by as
many Mercy General employees as I could get hold of on voting day,
it was a chance to thank Josie for all she has done to organize our
union. As one person stated, "We appreciate all those times she
got thrown out of the cafeteria on our behalf!" |

Ione
Summers slept through the first voting session (7 a.m. - 9:30) on
the floor, but bounced back by the 11 - 4 session and is shown here
wide awake as the votes are counted at the end of the day. Her mother,
Stephanie (Local 250 staff person), organized the contract ratification
election at Mercy Sacramento. |
