Another
moment in the vigil. This all took place along a fairly busy street,
so we got many honks of sympathy from passing cars. I am not sure
how many Woodland citizens are aware of what's going on in their
nursing home, but the response to this union action was positive.

Lydia,
a Local 250 member from Woodland Clinic, raising a hand in solidarity
with the workers at this nursing home. Lydia was a major player in
the union organizing effort where she works and can be relied upon
to assist whenever help is needed. |

It
wasn't long ago that we were attending rallies in support of janitors
seeking union representation. Now, having successfully organized many
Sacramento worksites, Samuel, of SEIU
Local 1877, is part
of this nursing home vigil. It's nice the way that all works.... |
