Lonnie
(Respiratory Therapist, MG) presenting a flyer to a staff person.
Lonnie spoke convincingly about the effect healthcare cuts would have
on the Med-Cal patients she treats. |

A
positive moment on the tour: Assembly Member Thomas Calderon meeting
with us and assuring us of his support for the Senate version of the
budget. |
| |
 |
| |
Since
he was so supportive, Assembly Member Calderon rates two photos with
this appreciative group of healthcare workers! |
| |
 |
| |
Not
such a happy moment: Assembly Member Jay L Suer's staff earned the
rating "highly negative" and lectured us on the necessity
of cuts/not taxes as a budget philosophy. Even if the budget were
about dollars only, (as opposed to choices about what kind of world
you want to live in), we in healthcare know it is not good economics
to have those without healthcare using the Emergency Room as their
doctor. |

Out
of yet another elevator and into the next office. That's our field
representative's daughter, Chardonnay, on the right. She is receiving
a full education in union action! |

Senator
Liz Figueroa receiving a flyer and a thank you from Lonnie et al.
Senator Figueroa voted YES for the Senate budget and kindly stopped
her work to meet with us. |

SEIU
Local 250 Field Rep Josie Summers observed by her daughter, Chardonnay,
as she signs the guest book in Assembly Member Herb Wesson's office.
Assembly Member Wesson received a thank you from our group for supporting
the Senate version of the budget. |
